"Richard Carpenter is Close to You" 2017 TOUR

Remember this guy? He used to be on top of the world looking down on creation, to the left of (and slightly behind) his kid sister, the iconic late superstar Karen Carpenter.

Well, he's back, and the most epic game of solitaire has only just begun. A multi-talented musician, composer, arranger, orchestrater, producer and engineer - the only thing he doesn’t usually get to do is sing lead. So, where do we go from here? Well, buckle up for a razor-sharp parody play that takes you on the ultimate ticket to ride.

A bittersweet dark comedy, full to the brim with spoof Carpenters song pastiches, telling the hilariously tragic yet ultimately uplifting tale of pop music's premier control freak.

Written and performed by Matthew Floyd Jones, the guy to the left behind the piano from Frisky & Mannish.

‘Hugely entertaining’ (Guardian)
‘Such a compelling performer’ (Exeunt)
‘Seriously talented’ **** (Observer)
'Jones pitches his version of Richard perfectly' **** (Broadway Baby)
