MFJ is best known as one half of Frisky & Mannish, the beloved musical comedy double act and "global phenomenon" (The Times). Devised and performed with Laura Corcoran, the duo’s achievements include creating nine full-length shows of song parodies, performing at Sydney Opera House and Shepherd’s Bush Empire, headlining in New York and Hong Kong, playing every major British music festival, completing nine UK and four Australasian tours, producing two West End variety shows, guesting on every BBC Radio channel, contributing to TV’s The Culture Show, and chalking up over a million views with their online material.

As a composer-lyricist, he has established a successful musical theatre writing partnership with Jon Brittain. Their first collaboration was the Fringe First Award-winning A Super Happy Story (About Feeling Super Sad), produced by Silent Uproar and published by Bloomsbury, and their second, Kathy and Stella Solve a Murder!, is transferring to the West End’s Ambassadors Theatre in May 2024, produced by Francesca Moody Productions, Kater Gordon, Fiery Angel & Wessex Grove.

Acting work includes the Samuel Beckett Award-winning Camera Lucida at the Barbican and the leading role of George in the West End première of Miss Nightingale at the Hippodrome. Solo projects include Richard Carpenter is Close to You and the cult alt-drag character act Ruth Less. Writing and composing commissions include projects for BBC Radio 1, Young Vic, Pimlico Opera, Gingerline Group, Celestial, Folio Theatre and Tall Stories. Other credits include work with the National Theatre, Royal Albert Hall, Southbank Centre, Trafalgar Studios, Soho Theatre, National Film & Television School, BBC Radio 4 and E4.
